The Theory of Life and Time

A Poem Written by Jurne Smith (2020)

Timing is imperceptible to the one who is not watching.

It casts off into darkness those that have lingered too close.

For too long it has caught the hound by its hair, and released me back into the wild.

An “on the job” job faulty and mistaken by the disgrace of a people.

Lonely and unfitting to bait in another without regard to its own perception.

Dropped into disgrace but risen up by grace.

By a heartwarming chase we have a chance to thrive.

The survival of a nation, a notion by one man.

A gift on a wooden stand hanging by the trees.

There is no stranger fruit, but by the breath every nation can breathe.

It’s time to release any graven sin.

From within we are counted as blessings holding in us the most precious of fruit.

There’s no denying the shipwreck of our life without gaining in it the shipwreck of your love drowning me in cleanliness.

A purity I cannot withhold.

A time stamp that has called me Redeemed.

To release from you would be to release death into hell itself.

A language spoken by the One true God I can only hear.

Quietness is a virtue that the tranquility of my soul reaches to connect.

“Peace be unto you who are deserving”, but Grace calls my name though I am undeserving.

A list of prayers and players forever shuffling.

My list goes on and on in recession.

The blessing of the Most High calms my aching spirit.

Why the soul must go forth without you, until I found you where you never left me?

I seek you oh Lord and though yet I am found.

Savior. Almighty God. Control.
